Univision Fires Rodner Figueroa

Good Riddance!

There is no room for racists on television.

Yesterday, March 11th, Figueroa commented on a story on El Gordo Y La Flaca and basically called First Lady Michelle Obama an ape on national television. From my understanding, Univision fired him right after he said this stuff. Good!

Also, I’m looking at the websites and I cannot find a trace of Figueroa, even better.

Univision firing him makes me happy, but the way his colleagues are reacting to the news is just infuriating. Specifically, Lili Estefan and Raul De Molina. Today, the first episode after the incident aired and by the way they were acting, you’d think someone had died in a terrible tragedy. This is not the case! This was a man’s racist opinions, causing him to be fired. This isn’t tragic, the only tragedy is that there are people who think that this is acceptable to think, let alone say on national television.

Sure, everyone makes mistakes, but when you’re on a public platform, you cannot do this. Univision is probably the biggest network for Latinos, and we cannot let this donkey of a man represent us in any way shape, or form.

Song of the day:
