Mani Monday – Kimono Over

I am so excited to have finally found this nail polish. I remember when Kimono-over from Essie first hit the market. I didn’t get it because most of the time, I tend to either use more affordable brands or use coupons. Either way, I never bought it and over the weekend I went to Sally Beauty and had a coupon so I bought this bad boy for less than $5, what a steal!

This isn’t really a summer color, but it’s a “me” color. I love plums, and this is a beautiful color. You can get away with one coat of polish, but I am a creature of habit so I used 2 coats, then I topped it off with my $0.99 Wet n Wild top coat.

From far away, this color looks black but in the right light, you can see the color in all its glory.

What is “your” color?

Spring Cleaning my Nail Polish Collection

Hey guys, I haven’t been online in a bit; I guess life gets in the way some times. There are many rules that I have made myself for the month of April, mostly because I want to be more disciplined in my life and I want to keep track of what I do. I had two rules for this month regarding nail polish and nails.

RULE #1 – DO NOT BUY ANY NAIL POLISH THIS MONTH!!! – When I was looking over my nail polish collection, I found so many nail polishes that I have bought and never used. I also bought over 5 nail polishes in the month of March, I guess I went overboard on my birthday month.

RULE #2 – GET RID OF AT LEAST 20 NAIL POLISHES!!! I have two photo boxes full of nail polishes, some over 5 years old! I made a vow to myself to throw away some, I don’t want to become a big nail polish hoarder.

These are all of the nail polishes that I got rid of this month. The criteria that I used was

a. Are they old?

b. Do I like the color/quality?

Have you been spring cleaning? Are you clearing out your makeup/nail color collection or are you cleaning your entire house (I need to do this)? How has your April been?

Mani Monday – Seeing Red

Happy first week of February. This month is all about red!

For this week, I used a Wet n Wild color called Marooned Over. I know I said I was going to try to limit my nail polish purchases this year but I had to have them, they were $2.49, originally over $5. What a score!

For this color, I used 3 coats. Normally I just use 2 but it was still streaky with 2. I also used Wet n wild top coat which helped with keeping my nails from chipping and keeping them shinny.

Should I do a classic red or go with a sparkly red for valentines week?

Nails of the Week – I’m Alive!

No, I’m not dead, sorry for the lack of updates these past few weeks. It’s been a combination of writer’s block and a bad cold that has been keeping me away from the computer/blog. I’ll try to be more consistent with my content for the rest of the month.

Today I come with an amazing combination of colors. One of my favorite colors is Lie-Lac by Sinful Colors and I decided to jazz it up a bit and add a cool shimmer/holo/dual chrome topper. I used You Just Wait.

Here’s a look at the nail polish in motion, it’s so beautiful.

After the topper, the lilac colored nail polish turned into a cool blue color. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it that much since I love the lilac color, but I did love it!

These two bad boys are available at Walgreens (they have one of the biggest displays ever!), find them at your local store and get your mani on!

How have you been? What colors are you wearing? Are you wearing fall colors, or are you still hanging on to summer?

Help Me Pick An Outfit!!!

header

Hey guys, I need your help! I have a wedding/anniversary/party to go to this weekend and I don’t know what to wear. Help me pick stuff out!! 🙂

outfit

Here are some options for outfits that I have.

The first one is a gingham blue dress from ASOS (All the outfits are from the brand Boohoo, but this one was found through ASOS Curve. This dress is cute for the summer but I wonder if it’s too casual?

The second one might be my favorite, I love the color and the flowers, plus I can’t resist a cold shoulder. This is the dress from the first Boohoo haul, and good news!! – It’s back in stock!

The third, I THINK, I have that as an option. One bone that I have to pick through Boohoo is the slowness of their shipping. I only paid ASOS $4 for shipping and it got to me in 3 days. I paid $6 for Boohoo and it’s been over a week since I have ordered. I don’t know where my dress is because the tracking has stopped updating even though it’s scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. What a mess.

Hint: If you love Boohoo, order it through ASOS, the shipping is not worth it.

Here are links for the outfits if you want to check them out!
