Plus Size Shopping – First Boohoo Order!

boohoodress

When I tell you that I’ve never ordered a dress fast enough…I am not kidding. So for the past couple of weeks I wanted to revamp my wardrobe with something new. At first I was looking around for a purse (I think I still want?), one that is more wearable. Right now, I am switching between a huge h&m purse and a St. John’s Bay backpack. Both are awesome as far as accessories, but I want something that is not as big and can be worn with cute summer outfits.

I searched everywhere for a purse and ultimately I did not find anything that caught my eye. I might buy a purse that I saw at Marshall’s but I don’t know, maybe I can shop my closet, lord knows I have too much crap. During my quest to find the perfect purse, I came across a store called Boohoo. If I remember correctly, it’s based in the UK and there are many haul videos on YouTube. As I was scrolling through the list of what they offered, as soon as I saw “Plus Size & Curve,” I was hooked.

I said “screw the bags, let’s get some clothes” and off I went. There were two items that I had my eyes on and couldn’t decide on what to get. I had two reasons for only getting one item: #1 – Although throughout most of the day, there are 50% off sales, I did not want to spend $40 on clothes that I did not know I liked. Plus, since they are located outside the US, I decided that the returning process could be a bit hard to handle. (I just realized how lazy I sound!) #2 – This is a store I was foreign to so I wanted to get a feel for the clothes before I became a loyal shopper.

One of the options that was on my shortlist was the dress that I eventually bought. It’s a nice lilac color, the florals are so perfect for the summer and the off-the-shoulder is something that I haven’t worn.

Here is my second favorite piece: it’s the Plus Katie Embroidered Playsuit

It’s a beautiful black romper with roses. So cute.pzz91873_black_xl

I ultimately went with the dress because I had to. At night when I was restless, I thought that maybe looking at the clothes would settle my mind, I saw that there were only 2(!!!!) dresses in the size that I wanted left in stock. I panicked and I don’t think I’ve ever logged into my PayPal faster. I got the dress!

About a week and a half later, the dress came. Some initial notes on the dress: I got this in a size US 18 because I did not know how the fit, material would work with my body. Also, these clothes are from outside the US so you never know how it will fit. From first impressions, I can say that I could have sized down to a 16 without a problem. The 18 is not too big. And as a little bonus: my mother can also wear it, which is awesome since she loves it too. Another note: This dress is sheer, at least to me, so I will have to find some nude underwear to wear with this dress or find something that I can use as a slip.

I’ll have a OOTD posted sometime soon! In the meantime, stay awesome!

Question of the Day: Where do you like to shop to update your wardrobe?

Nails of The Week – Stevie

For this week, I decided to sparkle. I went with Stevie by Zoya.

This is a beautiful lilac color with lots of glitter. This is one of Zoya’s pixie dust nail polishes which not only include glitter, but texture. I love it, these nail polishes remind me of the L’oreal Paris sparkly nail polishes I love.

Come Shop with Me: Torrid (Rest In Peace Lovesick)

There are only a few days before Lovesick closes (at least the one at my local mall). This is so upsetting, I loved Lovesick, it was like a Forever21 made especially for me. Although they didn’t offer Forever 21 prices, they had some cute plus size clothes.

I think it must have been around late March when Lovesick announced it was closing. The official word is that they are taking a break, but I think Lovesick will be gone for good. I hope I’m wrong. I loved that freaking store!

But with closing comes sales and clearance, and I’m all about that life. Here are some outfits that I got: I bought all these items for less than $50!!

The first thing I got was this cute babydoll type of shirt. I paired it with this cute shaggy cardigan.

I got lucky with this one! I bought this $60+ dress for less than $15! It’s missing a belt and it’s a bit too big, but it’s nothing a good tailor can’t fix.

I love, love, love this dress. It’s floral and it has a collar, so beautiful. I bought this dress for less than $10

I got lucky and had a Lovesick at my local mall so I was able to snag all these deals. I think all that I bought was from Torrid. I want to say that Lovesick had 40% Lovesick merchandise, 60% Torrid. It was odd, but I guess it makes sense since Torrid is their sister store.

What I’m wearing Wednesday. Featuring Target

Long time no Outfit of the day post. For this WIWW post, I am wearing a dress from Target. It is the Women’s Embroidered V-Neck Dress from Xhileration

I love this dress because it features one of my favorite things – embroidery. It features little diamond-like embroidery with some colorful embroidery on the collar and down by the bust.

I love this dress because it’s black and it goes with everything, but there are some things that could be improved. The fabric does tend to wrinkle very quickly so you need to watch it, you don’t want to look ratchet while wearing this dress. I also have to note that this is a junior’s dress and maybe that is why I think this dress runs very short. I wore tights with this dress because it’s still winter but I would also wear them during any other seasons because it would be too revealing for me.

Here’s how the dress looks like on the Target website/model
