Let’s get back into the swing of this – it’s time for a Mani Monday!!
This week, I decided to recover from that awful manicure and go with a nice coral/orange color – perfect for summer.
This is Hazard by Sinful Colors. I believe that as far as inexpensive nail polishes go, Sinful Colors might be the best.
Although this color was a bit streaky – I had to use 3 coats on some of my nails, my nails were not goopy or sticky, like I felt with Mellow Yellow from Sally Hansen.
I topped the nail polish with my favorite top coat – the wet n wild wildshine Clear Nail Protector
What are you wearing on your nails right now?
Now I don’t say this often, but holy sh!t, this was a horrible nightmare of a manicure. These nails were so horrible that I had to take the polish off a couple hours after I applied it. I don’t know what went wrong…everything did.
*Backstory* – For the longest of times I have been looking for a yellow nail polish. I have never had yellow nail polish and I have always loved the idea of having yellow nails during the summer. They make your nails pop and who doesn’t want to look like they have the sun on their fingertips? I actually contemplated buying this nail polish for about a month, it wasn’t until I saw the polish at a Walgreens that I decided to see this as a sign to get it. This is Mellow Yellow by Sally Hansen.
I wanted to play with the polish as soon as I got home. But first, I went on Instagram to look at some ways others have applied and used the polish. Most of the posts used the polish to give nail art and only a few had a full yellow nail. One person that had a full nail described the process and polish as using nacho cheese to paint their nails. RED FLAG #1!!! Another person said they used over 3 coats to complete their manicure. RED FLAG #2!!! And yet another person complained about the formula, and this is something that I saw while searching for the nail polish, apparently Sally Hansen reformulated the polish. RED FLAG #3!!!
I used the polish anyway. The first coat went on very thin, it was very streaky and uneven. The second coat wasn’t that much better. Then I did something I rarely have to do with a Sally Hansen product, use a third coat. It was awful, my nails looked gooey and nasty, it looked like I dipped my fingers on some nacho cheese. I regretted it so much. The nail polish also took sooo long to dry. The polish also had bubbled all around the nail which added to the nastiness of it. What a fail. I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed by a nail polish.
I decided to take off the polish and use “Babe Blue” also by Sally Hansen, this was a step up from Mellow Yellow. On my thumb, I attempted some nail art. This flower looks like it has an egg yolk in the middle, but I still love it.
What’s your favorite nail polish? What’s the worst nail polish you’ve encountered?
Let me know!
For this week, I decided to mix and play around with different nail colors. I put on two coats of On A Trip by Wet n Wild and over that, I put a layer of Stellar Explosion by Sally Hansen. Since the glitter polish also serves as a top coat, this was all I needed for these gorgeous nails.
I love this color combination and this beautiful manicure is going to become one of my go-to’s.
What’s your favorite color/nail polish combinations?
Hey guys! These are my nails for this week. I was looking and looking everywhere for a green nail polish, mostly because green is a color that I don’t wear that often. I found this Sally Hansen nail polish in the color Green Thumb.
I used two coats of the nail polish, and I used my Wet n wild top coat.
QUESTION TIME: What is your favorite top coat?
Welcome to the first Mani Monday of March! I can’t believe it’s March already, time is flying way too fast.
For this week I am wearing a nail polish I bought a couple of weeks ago, it’s Mauve Over by Sally Hansen. I love it, it looks pink-ish in some light while it also looks brown in some light. This is a nice color for the winter/spring transition.
I used two coats of the nail polish, topped off with my Wet n’ Wild top coat. I love that top coat. It works with most nail polishes.
What’s your favorite spring nail color?
